Scott Barbour is delighted to be returning to Fraserburgh.
The attacker will rejoin his hometown team, the Broch on a five-year contract, from Formartine United subject to approval from the SFA today.
Barbour started his career with the Bellslea outfit and was brought into the team by then boss Kris Hunter.
Three years ago he followed Hunter to North Lodge Park to join Formartine.
This season Barbour helped United win the Evening Express Aberdeenshire Cup and Highland League Cup.
While he enjoyed his time with the Pitmedden side, Barbour is thrilled to be returning to Fraserburgh and said: “I’m surprised at how quick it has happened.
“It’s a bit of a shock and it hasn’t really sunk in yet that I’m back at the Broch.
“But I’m delighted, chuffed to bits. I’m a Broch boy and even when I wasn’t playing for them I was still a fan. “I would go to some of the games with my family and it will be fine for them to see me playing for the Broch again, it’s great to be back.
“Fraserburgh did well this season, they were the closest team to Cove in the league for a lot of the season.
“Hopefully I can add to the squad and it would be great to go a step further and try to win the league.
“A lot of teams will be aiming at that next season, there’s six teams who will be going for the league next season so it will be exciting.”
