Former Don Willo Flood today revealed he left Pittodrie in a bid to secure more game time.
The midfielder had the final year of his Aberdeen contract terminated by mutual consent.
Flood, 31, then signed on at Dundee United for a fourth time and confirmed they were the only side he would leave the top flight for.
He said: “I spoke to the manager at Aberdeen and he was absolutely brilliant.
“I started over 20 games there last season and some people might sit back and thing that’s enough.
“That doesn’t do it for me and I want to play every game.”
Flood is set to make his Dundee United debut tonight against Cowdenbeath in the League Cup. However, he is already setting his sights on a quick return to the Premiership.
“United are the only team I’d have left the Premiership for,” he said.
