Aberdeen’s run of 10 straight home victories was brought to an abrupt end by a five-minute Rangers blitz.
A Kenny Miller double and Joe Dodoo’s low strike turned around a game that looked comfortable for the Dons.
The result means the Reds’ lead over the Ibrox outfit has been cut to nine points, with six games to play.
Here are three things Charlie Allan noted after yesterday’s defeat.
1) Rangers need to lock up their two-goal hero to a new deal
You have to give Kenny Miller credit for the way he turned this game on its head. He scored two cracking goals.
Rangers have stalled on giving the 37-year-old a new contract.
If they don’t want him the Dons should go and get him!
2) Missile-chucking fans need to be thrown out of Scottish football
It was disappointing to see Niall McGinn having to dodge a missile thrown at him from the away section.
It was the same when a flare was hurled on to the park from the home section.
The culprits should be hunted down and banned from ever getting into a match again.
3) Not the ideal day for winger’s landmark Aberdeen appearance
It was harsh on Jonny Hayes that his 200th game for the Dons ended in defeat.
The Irish international winger worked his socks off by making some great runs and creating plenty of chances.
That was despite only playing after passing a late fitness test.
