Joe Lewis today admitted he would love to become the first Dons goalie for 22 years to shut out Celtic at Parkhead.
Aberdeen face the Hoops in Glasgow tomorrow in the Scottish Premiership hoping to end a dismal run of 22 straight league defeats.
Their chances would obviously be boosted if Englishman Lewis could become the first Aberdeen goalkeeper in more than two decades to keep a clean sheet away to Celtic in the league.
The last to achieve that was Michael Watt, in a 0-0 draw in October 1994. Since then a host of top class keepers, including Gothenburg Great Jim Leighton, David Preece, Peter Kjaer and 2014 League Cup winner Jamie Langfield have tried and failed to keep their goal intact in away league clashes with Celtic.
Lewis is hoping he can end that run tomorrow.
He said: “It’s something I will obviously be looking to do.”
