THE Red Army today hit out at the rescheduling of five Aberdeen fixtures to accommodate television coverage in the New Year.
Dons fans face two nightmare trips to the Highlands with the away clash at Ross County moved to 12.15pm on Sunday, January 17.
Aberdeen’s trip to Inverness Caley Thistle has also been switched to Monday, February 15 (7.45pm).
The potential top of the table clash against defending champions Celtic at Pittodrie has also been moved from a Saturday to Wednesday night on February 3 (7.45pm).
Dons fans also have Friday night football with the home game against Dundee (January 22) and the trip to Partick Thistle (February 19).
Chairman of the Ellon Reds Supporters Group, Matthew Cantlay, said: “The fixture changes are a nightmare as you have to arrange travel to the games. Obviously, the television revenue is welcome but sometimes you wonder at what cost it comes, because 3pm kick-offs on a Saturday would boost attendances.
“I don’t think any thought goes into how these changes affects fans even though we pay enough money over the course of a season.”
