Jonny Hayes today challenged the Dons to deliver four years of glory to move into a new £40 million stadium on a high.
Aberdeen hope to be playing out of their field of dreams at a new ground near Kingsford by 2020.
Hayes has big ambitions for the upcoming season and confessed the chance to achieve “something special” with the Dons before they quit Pittodrie fuels his hunger for success.
Hayes was shortlisted for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award last season.
That form sparked reports Championship side Wigan were poised to make a £500,000 move to land the Republic of Ireland cap.
Aberdeen recently confirmed the winger is going nowhere this summer and that there has been no approach for Hayes, who still has two years left on his Pittodrie deal.
Hayes, 28, said: “Helping to bring the club back to the level it should be at before leaving Pittodrie would be something special.
“There’s still a long way to go, despite how well we have done in the league over the last couple of seasons.
“There’s still improvement needed.”
