Euro 2016-bound Icelandic international Kari Arnason today refused to rule out a return to Aberdeen.
The 33-year-old, who will face Portugal in Group F on Tuesday, was a fans’ favourite during his season at Pittodrie in 2011-12.
Now at Malmo, the defender – contracted to the Swedes until January 2018 – played in the Champions League group stages last season.
Arnason claimed “once a Don, always a Don” after helping Malmo knock Celtic out of the Champions League qualifiers.
He insisted the way the Red Army “made me feel loved” means he would not rule out a second spell with Aberdeen.
Asked if he would be open to returning to Pittodrie in the future, he said: “Definitely. You have to do that with Aberdeen.
“Everything the club stands for, the fans and the people, were great.
“I loved it there. Who knows, I might be back in Aberdeen. You never know.”
