INVERNESS Caley Thistle left-back Graeme Shinnie’s career will come full circle when he joins home city club Aberdeen next month.
As captain, Shinnie will lead out Inverness Caledonian Thistle in tomorrow’s Scottish Cup final against Falkirk.
The Hampden showpiece will be his last act for the Highlanders before joining the Dons on a three-year deal.
Shinnie starred in the Evening Express-backed Champion Street competition for three seasons.
His journey to leading out the Highlanders at Hampden began in the Granite City’s Champion Street – starring for Loirston Lightning (2000), Cove Crushers (2001) and Cove United (2002).
His first taste of trophy glory came on the turf where he will star for the next three years – Pittodrie – as he scored twice for Loirston Primary School in a 5-0 Willoughby Cup final win over Milltimber in April 2003.
