FORMER Aberdeen left-back Clark Robertson today signed a two-year deal with League One side Blackpool.
Robertson, who was released by the Dons at the end of the season when his contract expired, becomes the fourth player signed by new manager Neil McDonald.
Crisis-hit Blackpool are looking to revamp their squad having been relegated to League One after finishing bottom of the Championship.
Robertson told Blackpool’s official website: “I’m really excited to move to Blackpool and I’m looking forward to a fresh start and a new challenge.
“I’ve been at Aberdeen since I was a boy at eight-years-old, I came through the youth system there and made my debut at 16. It feels strange to leave but it’s something I’m looking forward to.
“My ambition when I came through the youth system at Aberdeen was to get down to England. I want to force my way into the team here and see where it takes me.”
Robertson made 68 Dons starts but his Pittodrie career was hindered by a long-term injury problem.
The full-back was sidelined for 10 months during 2013-14 having undergone knee surgery. He then suffered a thigh muscle tear in Scotland U21s’ 1-1 Euro qualifier draw in Slovakia on September 4 last year.
