Aberdeen’s long-awaited return to the Evening Express Aberdeenshire Cup has been brought forward.
The first round ties for this year’s competition – the second oldest association football tournament in the world – were initially due to take place on Wednesday August 1.
However, the Dons Colts, managed by Paul Sheerin, will now head to Victoria Park to play Buckie Thistle the night before, on Tuesday July 31.
The match will kick-off at 8pm.
Meanwhile, the two remaining first round ties are still to be rescheduled after a fixtures clash.
Fraserburgh’s meeting with Huntly at Bellslea, as well as Inverurie Locos v Banks o’ Dee at Harlaw Park, cannot go ahead on August 1 because Locos and the Broch must play each other in a qualifier for the Irn-Bru Cup.
