Aberdeen fans are being urged to donate funds needed for a crowd display in a bid to inspire the Dons to victory in next month’s Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.
A target of £2,500 has been set to buy the materials required before the match on May 27.
Depending on the amount they donate, fans will have the chance to win unique prizes as a reward for their generosity, including specially-commissioned badges, signed memorabilia and limited edition prints.
Matt Coull of the Red Army Display Team, said: “The fans have shown in the past that they are willing to bring these displays to life with both their time and money. Some displays will live long in the memory and it is a collective effort that makes it all possible.
“Fans have given very generously for previous displays and this time we would like to repay their support by putting these rewards up for grabs. All donations will be very welcome.”
Aberdeen fans’ group, Dons Supporters Together (DST), is supporting the fundraising effort.
Kevin Mackenzie, Chairman of DST, said: “These displays really capture the supporters’ imaginations and they have provided so many memorable moments and iconic images in recent times. It is something that really brings fans together and we are very willing to put our resources into backing the Display Team.
“It’s a great cause so we would encourage the fans to get involved by making their donations and by spreading the word to other Reds.”
