Lawrence Shankland has signed with Championship side Morton until the end of the season on loan.
The youngster was out on loan at struggling St Mirren earlier in the campaign.
Shankland has only scored four goals in 24 appearances in total this season.
But it is hoped the move to Cappielow will help him rediscover his form while giving him valuable game time.
Morton sit third in the Championship and faced the Dons in the League Cup semi-final last year.
Manager Jim Duffy was pleased to be able to bring the 21-year-old forward in on loan.
He said: “We’re delighted to have been able to bring Lawrence Shankland in on loan until the end of the season.
“We’ve looked around, all over the place to be honest, and just tried to get the best options available to us, and Lawrence has always been someone we’ve knew about.
“He knows the Championship; he’s been at St Mirren.
“I don’t think it was as prolific a move as he would have hoped but I don’t think that can detract from the fact he’s a talented goalscorer and he’ll give us something different at the top end of the pitch.
“At 21 years of age, he’s still got plenty to offer.
“He’s a strong boy in, and in and around the penalty box he’s a real threat. He’s not the one who’ll run into the channels or stretch the defences, he more occupies the defenders.
“That’s something I think that we’ve been looking for for quite a while.
“Even when we had the likes of Jai [Quitongo] available, we would have still liked somebody like that to give us a different type of option.
“So Lawrence will come in and I’m sure he’ll fit in well with how we play and if we can get the service to him, I’m really confident he can be a success and score some important goals for us.”
