Scotland crashed to a damaging 2-1 defeat to Israel in Haifa in the UEFA Nations League.

It was a dismal performance from the Scots who were fortunate not to lose by a higher margin to a side ranked a lowly 94th in the world.

Scotland went ahead in the 24th minute when Charlie Mulgrew converted a penalty for foul on Steven Naismith by Dor Peretz.

However the Israelis equalized as Peretz redeemed himself by netting a deserved equalizer in the 52nd minute.

Keeper Allan McGregor kept the Israelis at bay with a host of saves while Kaleb Twatha hit the bar from six yards when faced with an open goal.

However the winner came in the 75th minute from an own goal from Kieran Tierney.
