Here’s the businesses shortlisted for Beauty Salon of the Year award at this year’s Evening Express Retailer Awards.
One of Aberdeen’s finest and most innovative hair and beauty salons was thrilled to be shortlisted in two categories.
Owner of Ruby Tuesday James Coleman said: “To be shortlisted for one award was amazing, but to be finalised this year for two awards was truly amazing.
“It really has gave a great buzz throughout the salons.”
Situated in three popular locations – Bridge of Don, Cove and Bucksburn – the salons specialise in colour, cutting, hair extensions and all hair styles. In addition they provide a wide range of beauty treatments and therapies such as eye treatments, LVL lashes, eyebrow tints, waxing, manicures, pedicures, massages, hot stones and so much more.
James said: “We entered the Retailer Awards because we have had such a great year at Ruby Tuesday.
“We opened our new salon in April and it has gone from strength to strength.
“We thought this award and winning it would be the icing on the cake to end an amazing year.
“Ruby Tuesday will celebrate 10 years in business next year and in that time we have achieved so much.
“We are on our third successful salon and we have plans for more in the future.
“Most hair and beauty salons in Aberdeen are franchise-owned so knowing that we are one of the very few independently owned businesses has been amazing.
“As our salons are community bases we welcome clients of all ages and welcome whole families at times, so whatever your age you will get the same experience at Ruby Tuesday.”
James, who thinks “family, talented and passionate” describes his business the best, is also proud his salons offer exciting events such as “mummy master classes” throughout the year, where women and their families are taught a few things about hair styles.
The successful salons aim to offer “a city centre luxury experience with out-of-town prices”.
Customer service is at the heart of everything the talented hairdressers and beauticians at Ruby Tuesday do.
James added: “We always believe that you are only as good as your last hair cut or your last set of nails, so customer feedback and reviews are paramount.
“We strive to always go above and beyond to meet our clients’ needs.”
James is certain “a positive working environment for the team as well as ongoing training” really make a difference.
He said: “I have the most amazing loyal hard-working team who inspire me daily and our success is down to them and our amazing clients.
“Clients always comment on the relaxed fun atmosphere in all three salons.”
