It’s not every day you go out for a stroll and come across a PANTHER!
For one woman who went for a walk at the National Audubon Society’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Florida, it was a moment to remember as she saw a Florida panther run past the boardwalk she was standing on. (The big cat, by the way, appeared to completely ignore the terrified human nearby!)
Facebook user Tina Dorschel had a phone on hand to film this incredibly rare experience and share it with the world.
On on early morning nature walk we saw a gator, a snake, frogs, pretty birds, and had this unexpected encounter. (Warning…curse word at end!)(For licensing or usage, please contact email@example.com)

“On early morning nature walk we saw a gator, a snake, frogs, pretty birds and had this unexpected encounter,” she wrote on Facebook.
The video was later shared by the animal sanctuary on its Facebook page, writing: “This gorgeous #Floridapanther seems to have unexpectedly found himself cornered while travelling around a corner on the boardwalk – and quickly sped up to get away.
“Panthers are shy creatures and this kind of encounter was a lucky and extremely rare experience.”
According to The Florida Panther Society, panthers do not attack humans.
“Panthers do not like coming in contact with humans,” the organisation says. “It goes against all their natural instincts, but sometimes by mistake their roaming behaviour brings about contact with people.
“If you see a Florida panther, whether it is on your property or in the wild, stay calm. No Florida panther has ever attacked a human. More than likely, it will run away.”
