A Turkish eatery in south-east London has reminded us that 2016 isn’t all bad with an incredibly heartwarming gesture this Christmas.
Sidcup’s Shish Restaurant is hoping to ensure people in need don’t spend Christmas Day alone by offering a three-course meal for the homeless and elderly – totally free of charge.
Posters spotted in their windows offer the special menu between 12pm and 6pm, along with the message: “No-one eats alone on Christmas Day. We are here to sit with you.”
New posters arrived . it is on display now. Thank you Lacey Kathleen and Stephen Burr.
Many people clearly think it’s a wonderful idea.

Hi guysYou need to be aware of this beautiful thing Shish Rest in sidcup are doing on Christmas Day for the homeless…
People have also commented on Shish Restaurant’s Facebook post about the initiative to applaud the idea, saying things like “Makes my heart swell seeing this, what an amazing thing to do” and “you are all heroes”.
Meanwhile, other Facebook users have commented asking how they can help the restaurant with the meal and saying they would like to contribute something to the day, like Christmas crackers.
The menu states that guests will receive a starter of soup or cacik (a yoghurt-based dish), followed by casserole or chicken shish for main course and, to round the meal off pretty perfectly in our eyes dessert will be rice pudding.
Just makes you want to go and give the people at the restaurant a big old hug, doesn’t it?
Help us to make sure that no-one is alone this Christmas !!
