Organisers of a rave in Newcastle took finding a secret location a bit far over the weekend – we’re talking a sewer.
About 200 people waded through a few feet of water to find a sound system and lighting had been set up in underground tunnels beneath bridges.
The rave was advertised on Facebook – people keen to go were told to meet at a local pub before they were led down to the sewer.
But police were tipped off by a number of people who attended and were worried about safety. The event was halted at about 4am on Sunday.
No arrests have been made yet but police said the event was dangerous and organisers put lives at risk. They believe university students were involved.
We just can’t help thinking of all the rats that must have joined in… And wait, what about the smell down there?!
Of course, this isn’t the first time an illegal rave like this has been halted by police in Newcastle – people were found dancing inside one of the towers on the Tyne Bridge on New Year’s Eve.
