THE Met Office has issued a yellow warning of rain today in the North-east.
The forecaster says further rain is expected throughout the day, falling as snow at times above heights of 350-400m.
It warned that, following the persistent and at times heavy rainfall of the preceding days, there remains a risk of ongoing disruption from flooding, as well as transport disruption.
The rain should ease by tomorrow but there will still be some heavy bursts on higher ground.
Further heavy and possibly prolonged rain is expected to hit again on Thursday.
