Talented North-east musicians are being offered the chance to prove they have The X Factor – by a former winner of the TV talent show.
Sam Bailey, who was champion of the 2013 series, is set to play a gig at His Majesty’s Theatre next year.
And she wants a local act to step into the spotlight as her support for the concert on Monday, April 4.
Singers from around the region can send in videos showcasing their talent.
Sam will then personally choose the act which makes the cut, giving them the opportunity to perform in front of hundreds of people at HMT.
Erica Banks, communications officer at Aberdeen Performing Arts, said: “This is great news for local singers who have the chance to be Sam’s support act in what has the potential to be a career-defining moment.”
“Sam’s voice is out of this world and she is bound to put on a wonderful show,” said Erica.
“Her vocals and down-to-earth attitude won over hundreds of thousands of people when she appeared on The X Factor.”
More than a million people voted for Sam during the final of the programme.
The show launched her into the national spotlight, transforming her from a prison guard to a pop star overnight.
She is performing in Aberdeen as part of a UK tour to coincide with her upcoming album, Sing My Heart Out.
