WORK to expand Aberdeen as a port could begin in early 2017, according to the city harbour’s chief executive.
The Nigg Bay development framework, which is now out for public consultation, outlines how Aberdeen’s harbour could grow, including plans for cruise ships and major road upgrades.
It shows how deep water could accommodate everything from cruise ships to decommissioning work.
And it also looks at regeneration opportunities for communities arising as a result.
Chief executive of Aberdeen Harbour, Colin Parker, said construction could start in two years.
