Plans for a £1.5 million extension to a local authority building have been agreed.
Work is due to start next month on Buchan House in Peterhead after planningpermission was granted.
It will see a shared office space for council staff and Police Scotland workers.
The two-storey extension will join the existing Aberdeenshire Council base on St Peter Street and share its facilities.
Work is expected to begin in mid-May with completion next January.
Norman Smith, chairman of the Buchan area committee, said: “It is pleasing to see the project reach this stage and I look forward to work beginning on-site soon.
“The extension provides a great opportunity for even closer working with our Police Scotland colleagues and I am sure the people of Peterhead will welcome the increased presence at Buchan House.”
