A woman was taken to hospital after a head on collision with another car on a north-east road.
The incident happened on the A920 at Riverside Road in Ellon, at around 4.30pm this evening.
Emergency services were called to attend the crash, which involved a Fiat 500 and a Ford S-Max.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “It was a head on collision between two vehicles.
“Initially there was a female trapped in a Fiat 500 but she was freed by the fire service.
“She was taken to hospital with two broken ankles.”
The other driver, of the Ford S-Max, is believed to have no injuries.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman added: “We got the call at 4.37pm to attend from the ambulance service.
“We assisted the ambulance service in releasing a female from a car.
“We had small cutting gear in use, and had two appliances on the scene.”
The road is still closed while recovery takes place.
