A woman has been charged after a sneak-in theft in a north-east town.
Officers were called at around 4.30am this morning after personal items were stolen from a property in the Hope Street area of Peterhead.
A 43-year-old woman was traced a short time later by officers in the area and charged in connection with the theft.
She has also been charged in connection with three other thefts – one in the Longside Road area on February 17, one in the Winding Brae area on March 6 and one in Grant Court on March 7.
She is due to appear in court on Monday.
Peterhead Inspector George Cordiner said: “I would like to thank the caller who reported this incident last night which allowed local officers to respond quickly and carry out further inquiries.
“Tackling acquisitive crime and anti-social behaviour of any kind is a priority for your local Community Policing Team.
“If you see or hear anything suspicious please let us know by calling 101 or 999 if it is an emergency.”
