A woman and child were rescued by firefighters following a kitchen fire.
The incident occurred at around 1.40am today at a home on Brander Street in Burghead.
The woman and child were rescued by fire crews before being checked over by paramedics.
The fire was started as a result of food being left in the oven.
No one was injured in the incident.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We sent two appliances from Elgin, 12 firefighters.
“One adult female and one child was removed.”
