An elderly woman has died after being hit by a car in a North-east town.
Mary Donald, 89, from Ellon, died following a collision with a blue Peugeot 208 on Ellon’s South Road on Saturday.
The town’s bridge over the River Ythan was shut for several hours following the incident.
Sergeant Rob Warnock, from the Aberdeenshire and Moray Road Policing Unit, said: “First and foremost our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Mary who was well known in the Ellon area.
“Inquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information who hasn’t yet come forward to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
