An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a 51-year-old woman was hit by a car in a north-east town.
Police Scotland are asking the public to reach out with information following a serious road traffic collision on the High Street in Banchory at around 4.57pm yesterday.
The collision involved a black Nissan Qashqai, driven by a 48-year-old male, and a 51-year-old woman pedestrian who was crossing the road there.
As a result of the crash the woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is currently being treated for serious injuries.
The people in the car were uninjured.
Sergeant Rob Warnock, from the Inverurie road policing unit, said: “Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the black Nissan Qashqai or the female pedestrian prior to the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number PS-20181009-2666.”
