A young woman has died after her car crashed into a wall on a North-east road.
The 21-year-old lost her life following the one-vehicle collision.
The crash, involving a grey Citroen C3, happened on the A937 between Marykirk and Craigo around 9.40pm yesterday.
Police Scotland said no one else was in the car.
The road was closed for a number of hours following the crash, with police investigators scouring the scene.
Nobody else was injured or had to be taken to hospital.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that a 21-year-old woman has died following a road traffic collision.
“The one vehicle collision happened around 9.40pm on Sunday July 24 on the A937 near to North Craigo when a grey Citroen C3 left the road and collided with a wall.
“ No other people were travelling in the vehicle.
“Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicle being driven prior to the collision to contact them on 101.”
Firefighters from Laurencekirk were also called to the crash.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the crew made the vehicle safe.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman added: “I can confirm we were called to the incident.
“We didn’t have to take anyone to hospital.
“One ambulance crew attended.”
