A new skiing and mountain sports festival is set to take place at the Cairngorms National Park.
The Braemar Mountain Festival, which is being launched by mountain guide Sue Harper, will offer visitors a chance to try out winter sports.
The programme includes an introduction to cross-country skiing, telemarking, and some off-piste ski-touring.
The weekend will also host guest speakers and apres-ski music and food events.
The three-day event in March next year, will be rounded off with a film night showing the best of the Kendal Mountain Film Festival.
Organisers also hope it will put Braemar on the map.
Sue said: “We want to stage a festival which gives people the chance to try out some of the activities that they might see in our amazing films or hear about from our line-up of great speakers, as well as offering some legendary Scottish hospitality including a ceilidh, live music and local whisky.”
