Watch: Windows installed as work continues on new AECC

Workers at the site of the £333 million Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre took in the sights atop lofty cranes and cherry pickers as they installed windows yesterday.

Construction on the project began in June 2016 and is nearing its end, with the 12,500-capacity facility at Bucksburn scheduled to open to the public next year.

Over its first decade in operation, the AECC is expected to draw in 4.5 million visitors, who will contribute £113m to the city’s economy.

The new facility – which will provide four-times the exhibition space of the current facility at Bridge of Don – is due to open in 2019.
