DRIVERS were being warned of disruption on the A90 as £300,000 of improvement work gets under way on the busy route this weekend.
A mile-long stretch of the Aberdeen to Dundee road between Bridge of Muchalls and Westport will be reduced to a 10mph limit.
New road markings will also be put in place as part of the investment by Transport Scotland, which is aimed at mending potholes and cracks along the route.
Night work will start on the trunk road – which is maintained by BEAR Scotland – on Sunday and continue for five days between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
A convoy traffic management system will be in place along with the 10mph speed restriction, instead of the normal 70mph limit.
BEAR’S North-east unit representative, Andy Thompson, said: “These works will repair a number of cracks and potholes which will improve the general condition of the road for motorists.
“They are being carried out overnight to minimise delays.”
