City Wardens clamping down on dog fouling have starred in a national TV series.

In the latest episode of ITV’s The Inspectors Are Coming, wardens were shown going about their duties in various locations around the city, cracking down on fouling in Seaton Park, Tillydrone and the city centre.

Film crews followed the work of Scoop Watch, an initiative set up by wardens to tackle the issue of dog dirt in the city.

Senior city warden George Chambers said: “It was a great experience to be involved in the documentary.

“Taking part in the programme allows us to show, although we do take our job seriously, we can sometimes have a laugh and a joke with members of the public.

“I’ve been practising my autograph just in case I get recognised the next time I’m on shift.”

Aberdeen’s wardens were filmed over two weeks last September, and will appear in two episodes of the series.

The first aired yesterday at 7.30pm and the next one will be on at the same time on Tuesday.
