An emergency beach clean is being organised by a marine conservation charity.
Last week’s extreme weather conditions damaged several beaches around the North-east and now Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) is putting together clean-up operation in the city.
According to SAS, Aberdeen’s Torry Battery and harbour have been worst hit by the Beast from the East.
The event – which needs volunteers – will take place on Sunday and is being supported by East Grampian Coastal Partnership (EGCP).
The not-for-profit organisation – which looks to help protect the coast between Kinnaird Head, Fraserburgh, and St Cyrus – will provide SAS with extra litter pickers and gloves for the day.
Participants can meet SAS at 2pm at Aberdeen Harbour’s East Quay in Torry.
