Around 100 protesters made sure their voices were heard ahead of the crunch budget vote.
The large protest against potential cutbacks to services was held outside the council chambers before the meeting.
Among the people who attended the gathering were trade unionists, community groups and charities.
Protesters led chants of “no more cuts” outside the Town House while drummers played.

The group even attracted toots from passing buses and other traffic.
At the protest, Unite regional officer Tommy Campbell said: “It’s an absolutely brilliant protest and it is good to see workers, community groups and children here as well.
“It’s important that councillors take notice and any decision made should make the least impact on those that need the funding most.”
