Video: McDonald’s table service makes fast food even faster and more customisable than ever before

McDonald’s restaurants across the region have been undergoing a massive transformation.

Now with a new ordering system and revamped kitchens, the fast food firm is now offering quality meals produced to order with the ability to customise them to suit yourself.

Now you can place your order via a screen, which triggers an alert in the kitchen. And the new set-up offers the ability to have your meal delivered direct to your table.

As well as giving us the chance to see behind the scenes at their Kittybrewster restaurant (and attempt to make the iconic Big Mac) we also spoke to franchise owner Craig Duncan.

How to make McDonald's iconic Big Mac

The majority of people in Aberdeen have had a Big Mac from McDonald's – but have you ever wondered what goes into making the iconic burger? We were invited behind the scenes to attempt to make our own Big Mac in their Kittybrewster eatery

He is calling on community groups and charities across Aberdeen to use the staff at McDonald’s to help with any projects they may have.

He said: “We recently teamed up with Seaton Park to do a day’s activity of litter picks, painting, benches were sanding down and so on.

“We supplied about 35 staff and I went along with my area manager and the store manager and we also involved St Machar Academy pupils as part of their John Muir Trust Award.”

Craig added: “Groups should get in touch with the stores, go in and ask for the store manager and explain what they need our help with.”
