A north-east community organisation has been presented with a prestigious award.
Cummings Park Community Flat were gifted their Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service by Aberdeen Lord Provost Barney Crockett.
One of only three Aberdeen charities to receive the accolade, the group aims to support local residents, helping them to feel more engaged.
Development worker for the organisation Donna Sim said: “It is a big deal for the volunteers and the community. We are very proud.”
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK.
In order to be considered for the award, the groups must meet a need for people living in the local community, be supported and recognised by the people who benefit from it, and must also be run locally.
Applications for next year’s awards close on September 14.
