A gin distillery was set to play host to an innovative opera from a leading indie folk band.
Navigate The Blood were to perform at the Lost Loch Distillery in Aboyne today at 6pm.
The band performance is part of a tour of Scottish distilleries, organised by New Opera In Scotland Events (Noise).
The band Admiral Fallow have worked with composer Gareth Williams, librettist Sian Evans and classical singers to create their first new work of modern opera.
It follows the story of a husband and wife running a small independent distillery whose son disappeared mysteriously three years before.
Navigate The Blood aims to reflect the world of whisky and gin-making and the people who work in it.
It is supported by Creative Scotland to engage and entertain new audiences who may not be opera fans.
Alan Morrison, head of music at Creative Scotland, said: “Noise is one of the boldest contemporary music companies in Scotland, and Navigate The Blood is a great example of how they break down barriers when it comes to opera.”
