THE MAIN road to Aberdeen International Airport remains closed today due to a burst water main.
There is no right turn from Dyce Drive onto Argyll Road, which leads to the airport, following the incident yesterday.
A diversion was put in place via Kirkhill Road.
The burst water main was reported at 6am on yesterday.
A spokeswoman for airport said: “We have been told by the water board and the council that it is looking like extending into Friday. It is still going on.
“It is only a minor diversion mileage-wise, but it is causing a little bit of congestion.”
Scottish Water were on scene yesterday carrying out repair work on the road and footpath.
A spokesman said: “We apologise to local people affected by this issue with our network and we wish to assure them that we are working to reinstate the road and footpath as soon as possible.”
A spokeswoman for Scottish Water confirmed alterations to the water network were made yesterday, but repair work to the road and footpath are continuing today.
