A week-long event to celebrate reading will take place next week.

Book Week Scotland runs from Monday to Sunday across the country, with Aberdeen City Libraries one of the organisations taking part.

Three authors, Theresa Talbot, Mary Paulson-Ellis and Rosemary Goring, are to give free talks at Aberdeen Central Library on Rosemount Viaduct.

Author and broadcaster Theresa will speak about her novels on Monday between 6pm and 7.30pm, and Mary will host her talk on Wednesday from 6pm.

Rosemary will discuss her work on Saturday between 2.30pm and 4pm.

Councillor John Wheeler, education operational delivery convener, said: “We are delighted to mark Book Week Scotland by welcoming three outstanding authors to Aberdeen Central Library for what I’m sure will be a fascinating and thought-provoking series of talks.”
