
RUSH hour commuters are facing long delays tonight after traffic lights failed at one of Aberdeen’s busiest junctions.
The lights at the Market Street/Guild Street junction stopping working about 11.30am and are still not back up and running.
Police officers were directing traffic during the day before temporary traffic lights were put in place late this afternoon.
Bus firms like Stagecoach are reporting delays of up to 45 minutes as vehicles get snared up in the city centre traffic jams.

An Aberdeen City Council spokeswoman said: “Our engineers are working to fix the problem and we will keep motorists updated as the situation progresses.”
The city council said straight-ahead movement from Trinity Quay into Guild Street had been “suspended until further notice”.
Drivers are advised an alternate route is via Market Street (southbound), North Esplanade West, South College Street, College Street, Bridge Street and Wapping Street.
