THE heart-stopping centrepiece ride at Aberdeen Christmas Village is set to re-open this evening.
The 50m-high Bomber, one of Europe’s biggest thrill rides, was closed last night and today.
The village is being spearheaded by Aberdeen Inspired in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and Codona’s.
While Codona’s is in charge of the fairground rides at the Union Terrace celebration, the bomber is owned and operated by a third party.
A spokesman for Aberdeen Inspired said: “Due to the operator of the ride having staffing issues, the Bomber ride was closed last night.
“It will hopefully re-open to the public later this evening.”
The Bomber is a high-rise, high-speed ride which sees thrill seekers thrown forward at speeds of up to 90mph.
Sitting in spinning gondolas, visitors race towards the sky and “bomb” to the ground at top speed.
