Police were called to Balnagask Wynd in Torry yesterday afternoon after a man was found seriously injured.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) with serious injuries, although it is understood they are not life-threatening.
Witnesses described seeing a heavy police presence in the area, as well as two ambulances, with residents being escorted to their homes.
The incident took place at a cul-de-sac in front of flats on Balnagask Wynd at around 3.45pm yesterday.
The street was cordoned off for more than three hours while investigations were carried out.
Police carried out an investigation on the street and also conducted door-to-door inquiries in the area.
One unnamed resident said she was washing her windows when she heard a loud screeching noise outside.
She added: “I looked out and saw someone lying there.”
Councillor Alan Donnelly, who represents the area, said: “I hope the person makes a speedy recovery and doesn’t have any long-term injuries.”
