Aberdeen will play host to an event bringing together the area’s communities later this month.
Grampian Pride takes place in Aberdeen on May 26, when city-born actress Annie Wallace will lead a parade along Union Street, beginning at Albyn Place at 10.30am. The event is expected to attract thousands of people from the area and across the UK.
Annie, who plays head teacher Sally St Claire in soap opera Hollyoaks, said: “I am beyond excited not only to be asked to speak at the event, but to lead the Pride Parade through the city.
“It’s an incredible honour and I am very privileged to march with LGBT people from my home town and beyond.”
The parade is funded by a number of organisations across Grampian, including the NHS Grampian Endowment Fund.
There will be entertainment for guests on the day, with local bands and speakers from around the area at the Pride Village at Queens Links, including headline act Sandi Thom.
Those interested in attending the Grampian Pride Village from 1pm should visit Grampian Pride’s official Facebook page at: facebook.com/GrampianPride
