THIEVES have broken into a ticket kiosk at an Aberdeenshire castle.
The incident is believed to have happened between 5pm on Sunday and 10am on Monday at Drum Castle, near Drumoak.
As a result, a mid two figure sum of damage was caused and a mid two figure sum of cash was stolen.
Police are appealing for information following the incident.
PC Andrew Kennedy, who is investigating the break-in said: “Drum Castle is a National Trust site and as such relies on donations to help maintain the building and the grounds.
“Due to the castle’s remote location, it is thought that a vehicle was used.
“The entrance to the castle is from the busy A93 and I would encourage anyone who saw any unusual vehicles or people acting suspiciously in the area to contact Police.”
