Here are images featuring north-east residents from 1964 to 1989.

1989: Pupils at Ardallie Primary School were over the moon when they got a visit from US astronaut Alan Shepard who dropped in by helicopter to present the two teachers and 33 pupils with first prize in a national science competition.
1978: Rothienorman girl Ruth McKenzie, right, met members of the HM Theatre pantomime Dick Whittington as part of her prize for winning a competition to design the front cover of the panto’s programme in December 1978. The Inverurie Academy pupil won tickets for herself and her family
1989: Youngsters at Greeness School, near Cuminestown – which had just 13 pupils – were working on a project about trees. 1976: Three civil engineers and a farmer have set up their own company – Chap Construction (Aberdeen) Ltd. The quartet chose the name Chap by using the first initial of each surname. The four are civil engineers Alasdair Craigie, Aberdeen; Ian Harper, Oldmeldrum; Frank Anderson, now a farmer in Angus and the company’s non-executive chairman; and Ian Philip, Banchory.
1962: To mark his four years’ service as president of the Aberdeen branch of the National Federation of Retail Newsagents and Booksellers, W F Collins (left) received a briefcase from William Cross, Scottish secretary, at the Gloucester Hotel.
1973: Retiring after 34 years with the North-Eastern Fire Brigade, control operator Miss Ethel Davidson was presented with a clock and coffee percolator, along with other gifts, on behalf of colleagues by Firemaster John Donnachie
1989: Off to Holland to take part in a vintage rally with their 1960 fire engine were Neil Robertson, front, and on top, from left, Robert Morgan, David Rout, Derek Park and Dennis Scott.
