A group of surfers are on the lookout for volunteers to help them clean Aberdeen Beach.

Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) will hold its autumn beach clean at the River Don end of the coast next week.

The group said equipment will be provided at the event which starts at 1pm on Saturday, October 28.

A prize is also set to be given out on the day of the event for the most interesting piece of rubbish found.

A spokesman for the event said: “This year we will be tackling the River Don end of the beach, low tide is at 1.55pm which gives us plenty of time to remove as much rubbish as possible from the river mouth area and along the beach.

“A limited supply of gloves and bags will be provided but if you can bring your own please do so.

“There will be plenty of SAS information, stickers and even a prize for the most interesting piece of rubbish found will be given out.”
