A north-east mental health charity has attended an event to increase awareness of safer travel for people going offshore.
Choose Life Prevent Suicide North East Scotland attended the Safer Travel initiative hosted by Police Scotland, alongside the Borders Agency and NHS Grampian.
The charity attended the sessions on Thursday and Friday in order to promote the importance of speaking openly about our feelings and emotions.
It also raised awareness of how to tackle what can be a difficult conversation, when spotting signs of low mood in others.
Iain Murray, Choose Life coordinator for Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, said: “I know from personal experience that working offshore can be difficult for those working away from home and their families.
“Highlighting the importance of being open about our emotions and talking when we feel low and being alert for signs in others was really well received by everyone that we spoke with in the heliports.
“I provided short demos to promote the vital services and support information contained in the Prevent Suicide North East Scotland app and supporting website and many commented about the need for this information to be available offshore, which will be progressed.”
The Prevent Suicide North East Scotland app is free to download.
