Sugar fans wanted for Aberdeen university study

Researchers are on the look out for people with a sweet tooth to take part in a dietary study.

The University of Aberdeen’s Rowett Institute is investigating how sugar habits are maintained and change over time.

The research team is seeking people who regularly have sugar in their tea or coffee, and regularly have consume sugary cereal and fizzy drinks.

The nine-month study aims to show how taste preferences evolve, and how to help break existing unhealthy sugar habits.

The study, which is funded by the Scottish Government, will require participants to have four short visits to the institute and to keep a diary of their sugar intake over the first 12 weeks.
