A North-east dance competition has raised £20,000 for a dementia charity.
Strictly Come Prancing pitted 11 couples against each other at the Ardoe House Hotel in aid of the Banchory-based Forget-Me-Not Club.
Julie Goddard and John I’Anson went home the victors after a dance-off with another couple.
Julie said: “The evening was fantastic and we’re overwhelmed that we won.
“The weeks of practice and support from Deeside Dance Centre has paid off and we’re thrilled to have been part of raising money for an inspiring local charity which provides great support for those affected by dementia.”
Lesley Fletcher, development manager at the Forget-Me-Not Club, said: “We are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped us to reach this amazing target.
“The money will support the ongoing running of the Forget-Me-Not Club, such as extending the premises to allow us to help more people and ensure we can continue to make use of best practice and latest thinking.”
