They started with 5, 6, 7, 8 … now Steps have reached 20 – and are celebrating their milestone anniversary with a gig in Aberdeen.
Claire, H, Faye, Lisa and Lee will play the AECC with a 20th anniversary show on Friday, November 17.
And tickets are expected to be snapped up for the concert, which will also boast Vengaboys as special guests.
Steps are playing the Granite City as part of their huge UK arena tour Party On The Dancefloor.
It comes on the back of their new album Tears On The Dancefloor, due to be released next month.
In a statement, Steps said: “This is the album we think our fans have been waiting for. It was very important for us to have a hint of the past but to try to blend it into modern day music.
“We think Steps are a little bit of what everyone needs right now.
“We can’t wait to take the new album, plus all our favourite hits, out on the road.”
AECC senior sales manager Anna Mackenzie said: “Steps were last here in 2012 when they sold out the arena, so we know the band has a huge following in the North-east.
“We are sure their fan base will keen to see them again, with all their new material, for this special reunion.”
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Friday.
On the same day, the band’s new single Scared of the Dark – described as “riotous and bombastic” – will be released.
It’s a teaser for the forthcoming album, which features tracks from some of the biggest songwriters in pop, including Ina Wroldsen, who has written for Calvin Harris and Britney Spears, Steve Mac (Little Mix) and Metrophonic (Cher, Olly Murs).
Steps will certainly be hoping to secure some hits to rival the days when they dominated the charts with tracks like 5, 6, 7, 8; Tragedy and One For Sorrow. Fans of Vengaboys will also be delighted to see the Vengabus pulling up at the AECC as Steps’ special guests.
The Dutch foursome racked up a string of hits including Boom, Boom, Boom and We’re Going To Ibiza.
