An Aberdeen hospital ward providing learning disability services is being closed due to a lack of staff.
The Bracken Ward at Royal Cornhill Hospital, which has 10 beds, has only been able to stay open recently due to help from employees from other departments and community workers.
The ward has now closed to new patients. Staff tried to find alternative accommodation for existing patients but were unable to do so, meaning they will remain there for the time being.
An NHS spokeswoman said: “The proposal to temporarily close Bracken ward at Elmwood was made with the safety of our staff and patients in mind.”
